The artist, David Galbraith, is a Canadian of Scottish ancestry whose interests and talents have spanned three continents. He graduated university with an honours degree in Modern History which fuelled an interest in the arts. For a decade he expanded his interests and built a career in music and theatre which covered motion pictures, the concert stage, television and opera. He retired from this active and successful career in 1961 due to ill health and turned to visual art for creative therapy during a long convalescence.

In 1963 he made his home in Canada and continued his involvement in the arts, this time as a teacher. He taught for twenty-seven years as a Fine Arts, and Performing Arts Specialist, and counts those years as his most productive. He retired from teaching in 1992.

During his years as performer and teacher he has continued to paint. He enjoys a broad versatility of styles and techniques ranging from abstract to impressionist and expressionist work in oils, acrylics, watercolours and mixed media. His palette is vibrant and he loves texture. He is excited by the unusual as subject matter, and loses himself, completely, in his creativity.

Mr. Galbraith is a Registered Canadian Artist with The National Gallery of Canada. His artwork is included in European, American, Australian and Canadian collections. He enjoys continued popularity among his corporate clients and is represented in The United States and Canada by DAMAR Associates of Ottawa.

Internationally recognized and loved, David's paintings are immense in talent and much of the time in size.
